Island Park Trip

During Kyler's spring break (April 6-10) we were able to go to Island Park in Idaho with Nick's Dad and Becky. We spent a couple of days there enjoying the great snow and beautiful outdoors. Nick and the kids loved riding the snowmobiles and going swimming. I on the other hand chose to take it easy on the couch and worked on a baby blanket. They even took a snowmobile ride to nearby Big Springs and feed the fish and ducks. We then spent the rest of the week visiting my parents in Rexburg. It was a long week, it's always nice to be back home! The following are pictures taken at Big Springs.

April Fools part 2

I was having a really bad pregnancy day on April Fools. One of those crazy emotional draining, crying over everything day. I was also physically drained and couldn't get off the couch much and wanting to sleep all day. I had planned to make a crazy dinner but that just wasn't happening. So, the next day I was feeling much better and decided I could still make a crazy dinner. I told the boys we were having cupcakes for dinner and they were very excited. I called everyone to dinner and they came running for the first time. Here is what they saw:

Needless to say they were a little bummed that they were not real cupcakes but meatloaf with mashed potato frosting. But they surprising tasted really good and the boys liked them. Nick took the leftovers to work for lunch, I can't wait to hear what his buddies say about his delicious meal.

April Fools

I am so glad that April Fools is over! From the time the boys woke up, it was tricks all day. Here are examples of the best material they had to offer.
Hey mom, your shoes untied! HA HA HA your not wearing shoes!
Hold you hand out, your hands on fire!
Your hair is covered in ice!
So after a day of these comments, I had my own trick to play. I had a doctor appointment scheduled on April Fools day in which I had an ultrasound done. Going in, I knew this could work to my advantage or not. I called Nick after my appointment to tell him the good news, that I decided to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I told him to get ready for boy #4, though he knew better to believe me on April Fools and called me out on my bluff. I tried to convince him the truth but he wasn't believing any of it. So when Kyler came home from school, I told him and Nathaniel about my appointment. They both got very excited to find out the news. Nathaniel wanted a girl and Kyler wanted a boy. I told them that it was a boy. Kyler was so excited and jumping around. When Nick got home from work, I had the boys tell him the news.

Kyler says, "Dad, mom went to the doctor and saw pictures of the baby. We're having a boy! It's not even an April Fools joke!"
Mom, "I never said that last part."
Kyler thinks for a minute, "do you mean?"
Mom, "April Fools! I didn't find out if its a boy or girl."
Kyler then starts crying and is very upset that he doesn't know.
Mom, "Kyler I'm sorry your crying, it was just a joke"
Kyler, "I really wanted to know what the baby will be. I can't wait till it's born.
Well, I felt really bad that he was so sad about it.

Meet Spiderman

Last week our boys got to go meet spiderman. They were very excited to see him. Spiderman came all the way from New York to teach kids about health and fitness at a local fitness place.

Kyler was lucky enough to be called on to help Spiderman show how to do a push up. I must say he had pretty good form.

He must have been doing to good cause here is Spiderman putting his foot on Kyler's back to make it harder. The boys had a great time with all the activities that were going on.

Projects

So I have been finding out things that new moms have been using, why I didn't know about them before is crazy. A couple friends of mine use the nursing covers that are great for cover up. I was going to buy one but it is much cheaper to make one. Then I thought I don't want another bulky thing in the diaper bag so I discovered clips that are attached to any blanket you have at the time. Again the cost to buy was too much, so I had found some material and made a couple of clips. They work by clipping to one side of the blanket, then wrap around your neck, and clip the other side of the blanket. I also saw on a website how to make cute wipes container so I made one of those using the same material. This is my attempt!

Pregnant Belly

I decided it was time to post a picture of my growing pregnant belly. This is me at 25 weeks, just over six months along. Just don't ask me if there are twins in there, only one baby, so I have no explanation as to why I'm so big except maybe the fourth pregnancy balloons out so quickly and easily. Sort of a been there -- done that -- I can do this again. The baby is moving around a lot and doing great. At my checkups, my doctor can get the heartbeat for just a second and then baby skedaddles away, leaving the doctor a hard time finding where he/she went. Kyler loves to come and see if he can feel the baby. He will often just come over without saying anything, put his hand on my belly, then say the baby is sleeping because he doesn't feel anything. Little does he know how many little movements are only felt inside. Soon enough will be the big kicks and elbows that can definitely be felt from the outside. I have overall been feeling very well. I still go to my aerobics class that my friend teaches at our church, but that is starting to get more difficult. While I still have energy, I've been trying to get as many projects done as possible before the baby comes, plus getting mentally ready for FOUR kids.

Updates

This is just a quick update for our family. First off, I had my ultrasound done three weeks ago. Kyler got to go and was very excited and asked lots of questions. The baby looks good and is measuring right on track. So the big reveal, is it a boy or a girl? It is a surprise! We decided to wait and see. I know its crazy. We were surprised with Logan. There's just something about not knowing while your in labor and delivery that increases the excitement and adrenaline. So you will all find out when we do.

Nick's work had a big design competition this year. Throughout the year there were mini competitions all leading up the final deal. The two categories were print design and web design. One of Nicks web designs made it as one of the five finalists for that category. The big day came with fancy lunch and all the excutives were there. Nick had no idea what a big deal it was. Needless to say he was very surprised when the called his name as the winner! This is a great accomplishment and shows what talent Nick has. He was awarded a nice crystal trophy and was given a platinum level award certficate that he could use at the company's award store to pick out whatever he wants. He chose the I POD touch and has a hard time putting it down. Good Job Nick! Check out his website at http://graphnickdesign.com/ and click on his blog to learn more.

Kyler is doing great in first grade. He is so smart and is a great reader. Something in his head just clicked when he was learning to read. He loves chapter books and I find him reading the Book of Mormon on his own. He is also very good at math. This will be a big year for Kyler, he turns eight. So that means preparing to be baptized and start scouting. He is very excited for both.

Nathaniel will be 5 in April and keeps asking me when he gets to go to school. He hovers over Kyler during homework time trying to take it all in. He also loves learning and is starting to read on his own and also loves math. Nathaniel has energy to spare. From the time he wakes up till the time I practically have to strap him in bed, it is go go go.

Logan is two and is at the fun age. He is so pleasing to have around the house and to see the little quirky things that he is picky up. Though for each time he is great, he has those toddler break down moments. He is so obedient and loves to do whatever he is asked, hopefully he will stay that way. His potty training is going great. I can hardly believe he's figuring it out.

Hopefully I can get some pictures posted, but many of you may know just how quickly that will get done with all the other things that need to get done.
