A Little Love to Share

Showing just a little of the joy McKayla brings into our home.

McKayla

Time to update how McKayla is growing. She is now four months old and is very intrigued by everything around her. She studies her fingers and holds her pacifier infront of her face and tries to put it in her mouth. McKayla has started to suck her thumb, sure it looks cute but not an easy habit to break, hopefully she will outgrow it. She also has started moving her tongue between her lips and makes the spitting sound. She loves to talk and we spend time just talking together, mommy and daughter talks. She recently had her four month checkup and weighed 15 lbs (88th percentile) and measured 26 inches (99th percentile). She sits up with support, is starting to roll to one side, and has started eating rice cereal. McKayla is so much fun and we love having her!

Silly Stories

Kyler's first grade class had a Silly Stories day. Each student was to come prepared to tell a story from a book. The rule: No Books Alllowed, just telling the stories in their own words. Most students did simple stories. A couple did a book from the If You Give Mouse series, five students did the Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly. The one before Kyler was the story of the Three Little Pigs. Then it's Kylers turn. He gets up wearing his wolf costume and says: "We've all heard the story of the three little pigs, but not the real story." He then tells the Real Story of the Three Little Pigs as Alexander T Wolf. He used a flannel board story as he talked and really knew the storyline. He did awesome!

Look What I Did!

It was a nice summer evening. The time, 5:30 on a Thursday, when my story takes place. It all started when I was chasing after Logan down the sidewalk. You see he needed to come home and wouldn't listen when I told him no, in fact he just went faster like what most kids do. I crossed the street and went from the grass to the sidewalk but instead of making it all the way to the sidewalk, my foot tacoed into a hole that was separating the two, then I heard a crack -- oh great. I hobbled home letting the two year continue down the sidewalk. I made it to the front door just in time for the real pain to kick in. Now I am crying on the couch, Nick comes and wonders what happened. I told him my story. I decided to rest for the night and if it wasn't better the next day then I would go get an x-ray. Well, the next day came, and I wasn't doing any better. My foot was constantly throbbing and I couldn't put any weight on it. Finally went to get an x-ray done and here is the result...

Yep, it's broken!!! What am I going to do with a new baby, a crazy two year old, two kids in school, and a broken foot? Not to mention all the stairs in my home. I guess its time to call in reinforcement, double duty for my husband (again) and my boys helping when they can.

Time to blog

I haven't had much time to blog (go figure) and today was a good day to catch up. This summer just flew by, I feel like my boys didn't get to do much since we just had a baby but we did our best. I can't believe how much McKayla has grown already. She is cooing and laughing, it is so much fun to just hold her. Life sure is getting busy with four kids and its hard to keep up with the house and the piles of laundry. Thanks go out again to my husband who continues to help with housework. Maybe someday I will have enough energy to be supermom and get everything done, but probably not. Now get ready for the posts that follow!

First Day of School

School started on August 24th. Kyler is now in second grade with Mrs. John for his teacher. Nathaniel started kindergarten with Mrs. Newman for his teacher. They are both doing great and so far love school!

McKayla's Special Day

We had McKayla's baby blessing on August 2nd (goes to show how late I am at posting). It was a great day with family and friends to celebrate with us. Nick did a nice job with giving McKayla her blessing, I always cry especially when he gives the babies name, it just reaffirms to me that is who they are supposed to be. I decided to make McKayla's dress. I actually made one while I was pregnant not knowing if I would use it, I just wanted to make one. Then when McKayla was born, the dress didn't look right for her, so I made another one which fit her style so much better. I also made the headband. Thanks to my niece Cherish for making the bracelet.
