Kangaroo Zoo

We took our kids to Kangaroo Zoo on Memorial Day. It is a place full of blowup bounce arounds that the kids get to go crazy running, jumping, climbing, and sliding. The boys loved it! It was a great way for them to get some ( I do mean some) of their energy out.

What a cute baby!

Happy Birthday Nick!!! It was Nicks birthday on Sat May 16th. He was able to take it easy at home playing his new Wii Fit. The night before was supposed to be the Stake Father and Sons camp-out but it was cancelled because the campground was still covered in snow. So the boys set up camp in the backyard and slept out that night. I wasn't allowed outside, boys only, I was okay with that! That morning, the Stake had breakfast and games at a nearby church. The boys had so much fun being with their dad. Nick you are a great father and husband! We hope you had a great birthday, we love you!

Run run as fast as you can

On Sat May 9 was the Susan G Komen's Race for the Cure. This was Nicks second year participating in the 5k race. It is a lot of fun being at the Gateway with all the people supporting breast cancer research and seeing all the survivors. While we waited for Nick to finish, the boys had fun going around to all the booths getting free stuff.

Nick's Car

So Nick's car he was driving finally had its last drive. We could have fixed it for $3,000 but decided it would be best to put that money toward a newer car. When we first started looking for a car, my only requirements was a four door automatic. Then he finds a great deal on a two door manual, I will need to practice driving stick- it has been many many years since I did that. Well, he found a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder that was in our price range. He was able to talk the salesmen down $2,000. Kyler and Nathaniel love the convertible, taking turns putting the top up and down. Logan was really scared to come near the car for a couple of days. I think it is because the night before we got it we were watching Transformers. What is a two year old to think when a car starts losing its roof? Of course it would come alive and get him. But now he is doing better and I find him playing in the car. I figured with the new baby coming, we wouldn't be able to fit in a regular sized car anyway so why not let Nick get the car he wanted. The best part is he loves it! It's also an early birthday present for his birthday on May 16th.

Bowling

We love to go bowling as a family. We went later in the day on Nathaniel's birthday. I started out bowling but soon realized that it was not working so well being eight months pregnant. So I gave up my spot and let Logan finish for me. I ended up getting a better score that way! (thanks to the bumpers). The big winner was Nathaniel, he wins most of the time. The big loser I can say was Nick bowling his lowest score ever. He wouldn't like it very much if I published his score so I will respect what little dignity he has left (we still love you Nick!).

Nathaniel's 5!!! (April 25)

Nathaniel had his 5th birthday on April 25. He was so excited and was counting down the days for months. He had his first friends birthday party and was beaming with excitement. I was lucky enough to find him a great bike for a great price. He woke up first thing that morning and jumped right into bed with us ready for his birthday to start. He soon made it downstairs to see the bike hiding in the corner. He was shocked that someone else had come into our house to leave their bike. He couldn't figure out which neighbor it belonged to. Nathaniel couldn't even wait until after breakfast to open his presents so he got right down to business. After he opened a few more gifts and cards sent from grandparents, we told him there was one more present. He looked and looked and didn't see it anywhere. Kyler had to tell him it was over in the corner, Nathaniel went to check but all he saw was that bike still not getting it. I told him that bike is his present, his eyes got really big and he couldn't believe it was his! He asked to have a frog cake, so there is a picture of my attempt at his cake. Happy Birthday Nathaniel!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Island Park Trip

During Kyler's spring break (April 6-10) we were able to go to Island Park in Idaho with Nick's Dad and Becky. We spent a couple of days there enjoying the great snow and beautiful outdoors. Nick and the kids loved riding the snowmobiles and going swimming. I on the other hand chose to take it easy on the couch and worked on a baby blanket. They even took a snowmobile ride to nearby Big Springs and feed the fish and ducks. We then spent the rest of the week visiting my parents in Rexburg. It was a long week, it's always nice to be back home! The following are pictures taken at Big Springs.
